After returning to your country, apply for a lost passport renewal so that you can replace your lost passport. Gather all the documents, including a copy of your police report, and submit the online application.  

How to Apply for a New Passport? 

If you have lost your passport card, you should apply for a new passport as soon as possible. When filling out the application form on the website, make sure to select the option that indicates "re-issue" for a lost passport replacement and select the reason that says "passport lost or damaged". You will get a new passport, which will have a new passport number, and its validity will also have a fresh start. Although it is not necessary to submit a copy of your previous passport, you should be able to provide the basic information about your old passport, like its number, expiry date, and date of issuance.
